Outlook 2010 has a new feature that lets you monitor your social networks from within your Outlook. So what does this mean in layman's terms? I get an email from a friend, I can also read her latest Facebook posts in the same window.

A new feature of Outlook 2010 is to group your emails by the conversation. No more looking back through old messages looking for the first message of a conversation. Now they can be grouped by conversation and even your sent messages in that conversation are visible in the same screen. These groups can collapse and expand so they don't take up much viewing room in your mailbox.

MS Word has the ability to translate your words, sentences, and whole documents. This video shows how to do it using Word 2010, however, it will work in older versions the same way.

We search for lost email, create sub-folder which Google calls Labels, delete, archive, star (flag) messages, and more.

Conditional formatting applies formatting to specific cells to make it easier to distinguish between cell values. Basically, it makes your spreadsheet look cool. When the value of the cell meets the format condition, the format you select is applied to the cell. Excel 2007 makes it so much earlier than ever to apply conditional formatting. Hope you have time to play because you're gonna love this one!

Filters are used to filter out data you don't want to see. This is a great tool for large databases where you only want to see a certain query or group of data. It even counts the records for you. This video shows how to to do it in both Excel 2007 and Excel 2003 or older versions.

Office 2007 has what is called a ribbon instead of toolbars. It is designed to make working in the MS Office programs easier and faster. The key is to think about what you are trying to accomplish. If you are trying to insert something such as a header/footer, you would look under the Insert tab on the ribbon. If you are finished with your document and ready to review it for spelling errors, you will look on the Review tab ribbon. This video helps you get acquainted with the tabs and ribbon using MS Word 2007 as an example.
